Growth in Sales of Tata electric vehicles
With a 70% share in the electric passenger vehicle segment in the country, Tata became the first Indian electric car to pass the Global NCAP crash test. The company was in the headlines recently because of its enormous 234% growth in electric car sales.

Especially in the case of Tata Tigor EV, a whopping 701% increase in sales is seen over the last year. Only 100 units of the Tigor EV were sold in 2020 concerning to 801 units in 2021.
Tata Motors EV: R&D
Tata Motors has four research and development centers in India ( Pune, Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Dharwad) and three outside India( South Korea, UK, Spain). Its latest electric vehicle technology “Ziptron” is already creating a buzz in the market.

While addressing the shareholders, the chairman of Tata Motors N Chandrasekaran has recently stated in 76’th Integrated Annual Report that by the end of 2025 ten new electric vehicles will be launched by the company. He also said that over 4000 units of electric SUVs are being already sold after the launch of the Tata Nexon EV.

- Tata Sierra EV: This 5 seater SUV is expected to be launched in March 2022 with an estimated price of Rs 14 Lakhs. With a 35 kWh battery pack, Tata Sierra is expected to offer a riding range of 400 kms.
