Bengaluru: After the global unveils in February 2021, Hyundai is all set to launch the all-electric SUV, Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India by the end of this month. According to the initial tests done by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers a driving range of 487 km on a single charge.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car comes in two variants – all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.
The launch of the Hyundai Ioniq can be considered a part of the recent announcement by the company of its aggressive plans to launch 6 electric cars in India by 2028. Hyundai Ioniq 5 falls under the premium segment to be launched and is based on the state-of-the-art modular E-GMP platform.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Range.

Hyundai Ioniq is expected to offer a sweet driving range of 487 km, as tested by the Environmental Protection Agency, a US body that rates the energy efficiency of electric vehicles. On the other hand, the range offered by the all-wheel-drive variant of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is lower at 412 km.
After the EPA tests, it is now confirmed that the range of Hyundai Ioniq 5 will match the range of Iconic Hyundai Kona electric, which already made a big name in the Indian EV industry. The estimated range per charge has already surpassed the other popular EV models in the Global Market.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Specifications.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 is 4,635 mm in length, 1,889 mm wide, and 1600 mm tall. The all-electric car has a wheelbase of 2,999 inch which is quite long compared to other available Hyundai SUV cars.

The Ioniq 5 has a clean minimal design to give it a futuristic electric vehicle design. The vehicle has Updated LED headlights and DRLs at the front, and square-shaped LED lights at the back.

Ioniq 5’s cabin has two 12.25 inch infotainment touch screens, 360-degree cameras, 7 airbags, and luxurious seats made out of eco-friendly materials.
Hyundai Ioniq 5: battery and power
The Ioniq 5 electric car comes with a 77.4kWh battery pack paired with a single-motor or dual-motor setup. The Ioniq 5 comes with two battery options, the 58kWh or 77.4kWh variant.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 supports 800V super-fast charging technology and can be charged from 0-80% in 18 minutes with a 350 kW charger.
The company claims that the 5 minutes of charge with the super-fast charger provides a 100km of range.
The AWD variant produces a combined output power of 320 Horsepower and 604 Nm of Torque. Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a top speed of 185 kmph and is expected to go from 0-100 in 5 seconds.
The real-wheel-drive variant produces an output power of 225 horsepower and 359 Nm of torque.
