BMW X7 Signatutre Edition Launched: Is it Worth the Extra Rs 3 Lakh?

BMW X7 Signature Edition India

With an additional 3 Lakh, the BMW X7 features some major cosmetic changes and here we talk about the performance and power changes in the signature edition.

BMW just dropped the X7 Signature Edition today in India, at a starting price of Rs 1.33 crore. Yep, that’s a solid Rs 3 lakh more than the regular X7 xDrive40i. Now, you might be thinking, “Is it worth paying more for this?” Here we discuss the new upgrades, power, and performance of the newly launched BMW X7 Signature edition:

The 2024 signature edition is all about style and luxury touches in the BMW X7. Here’s what makes the Signature Edition a little extra:

  • New Color Options: You get to choose between two fancy shades – Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey. These are special colors that you won’t find on the regular X7.
  • Crystal Headlamps: This time the headlights in the BMW X7 aren’t just regular LEDs, now they come with Swarovski crystals. Yep, you heard that right. They actually sparkle.
  • Smoked Glass and Shiny Roof Rails: Towards the rear of the X7, you’ll notice a smoked glass finish on the chrome bar that connects the tail lights. Plus, you get upgraded rood rails with an aluminum touch.
  • New Fancy Interior: Stepping inside the BMW X7 is all about luxury and comfort. In the signature edition, the instrument panel is wrapped in special leather, along with Alcantara cushions.

Engine and Powertrain

Now, here’s where things stay the same in the upgraded signature edition: the engine. There is no boost in power or performance in the upgraded variant. It still retains the same 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech.

This means that you still get 381hp and 520Nm of torque, which is really good. It can still go from 0-100kph in 5.8 seconds, so it’s definitely not slow. However, the upgrade hints towards a cosmetic change in the X7.

Is the Extra Rs 3 Lakh Really Worth It?

Alright, here’s the real question about the BMW X7 Signature Edition: should you spend that extra Rs 3 lakh? Let’s break it down in a simple way:

  • If you love fancy cars and those extra cosmetic upgrades matter to you, the X7 is the right choice for you. The exclusive colors, crystal headlamps, and those little luxury touches in the interior definitely make the Signature Edition a little upgraded.
  • Despite the branding of Signature Edition, the car retains the same performance and engine options. The extra cash is all about the visual and luxury details.
  • Comparing the new X7 to its rivals such as the Mercedes GLS or Audi Q7, the Signature Edition is definitely more unique and stands out with its fancy features

So lastly, if you need some extra new features with some additional money, the signature edition is a good option. But if you are more focused on performance or don’t care about all those extra cosmetic changes, then the regular X7 xDrive40i is already fantastic and saves you some money.
