In an Auction for the first Thar Roxx Unit sale, a buyer purchased the 5-door Thar having a VIN 0001 for Rs. 1.31 Crore.
The first unit of the newly launched Mahindra Thar Roxx, having VIN number 0001 was sold for Rs. 1.31 crore at an auction event. This auction occurred between September 15 and 16. The top AX7 L diesel 4WD AT variant fetched a record price. The auction proceeds will support one of four non-profits, chosen by the winning bidder.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is the upgraded variant of India’s most versatile duel street SUV Mahindra Thar, known for its strong off-road capabilities. The auctioned vehicle features VIN 0001 and a signature from Anand Mahindra. This sale broke the 2020 record when the first unit of iconic Thar was auctioned for ₹1.11 crore.
General bookings for the Thar Roxx are set to start on October 3, meanwhile, the deliveries will start from October 12, 2024, during the Dusshera season. The five-door SUV starts at Rs. 12.99 lakh for the base 4×2 MX petrol model. While the entry-level diesel variant starts at Rs. 13.99 lakh. Prices for the 4WD diesel model will be announced later.
Engine and Performance
The Thar Roxx offers two engine options. The first is a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol engine producing 160 bhp and 330 Nm. The second is a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine with 150 bhp and 330 Nm. Both engines come with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Features
The AX7 L variant of the new Thar Roxx comes packed with several premium features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 360-degree camera. Other notable features include automatic climate control, six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats.

Off-Road Capability
The Thar Roxx is built for serious off-roading similar to its older sibling. It has a fuel capacity of 57 liters and a ground clearance of 219 mm. The vehicle can pass through water up to 650 mm deep. This five-door SUV offers comparatively more space than the three-door version. It competes with the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the Indian market.
