Tata Motors has just launched the upgraded variant of the most-selling Nexon EV named Red Dark Edition. This upgrade is full of surprises for EV lovers as it includes a bigger battery, extended range, and a bold Red Dark Color. With a starting of Rs 13.99 lakhs for the base model Creative with the bigger battery, the Nexon EV is likely to retain its stand as India’s top-selling electric car. Here we discuss the five new key features that stand out in this updated edition:

1. Larger 45 kWh Battery

Talking about the battery upgrades, the new Nexon EV comes with a 45 kWh battery pack. This massive Nexon EV battery offers a range of 489 km on a single charge. The range we are talking about is Tata’s trustworthy C75 range test under varied road and driving conditions. One striking new upgrade is that the battery is 15% more energy-dense this time, however, it takes up the same space as older models. The charging speed got an upgrade too. Now, it charges the 48kWh battery from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes.

2. New Red Dark Edition

This new Nexon EV upgrade brings a Red Dark Edition that adds a sleek look to the car. The body comes in a Carbon Black color with 16-inch Piano Jet Black wheels. Other notable features in the red dark edition include a 2D Tata logo and Charcoal Grey roof rails. Now, what makes this update “Red” is the presence of red upholstery against a Satin Midnight Black finish inside the cabin and some red color linings on the exterior. This edition is only available in the Empowered+ trim that costs Rs 17.19 lakh.

3. Special Infotainment System

Top variants of the upgraded Nexon EV now feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital driver’s display. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the Red Dark Edition in Empowered + also has special UI and UX screens for a personalized driving experience and an additional touch AC control screen. These new UI changes are in line with Tata’s introduction of a back-lit logo on the steering wheels of all their latest electric and ICE Cars.

4. Enhanced Safety Features

Like all cars from Tata’s electric lineup, Safety remains a priority with the updated Nexon EV too. It comes with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control. Additional features include parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system, ensuring protection for all passengers.

5. Added Comfort and Convenience

The upgraded Nexon EV variant with a bigger battery offers several comfort features. As a part of the update package, new features include a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger. The two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, with a back-lit Tata logo, adds elegance. The digital driver’s display and sleek gear selector enhance the interior further.

    The updated Tata Nexon EV 45kWh variants, mainly the new Red Dark Edition, blends style with performance.
