If daily average commute is 30kms, you will spend Rs 5,765 on Petrol per month, where as only Rs 790 for charging you electric.
Based on the average travel of 900 per month and total charging cost of Rs 790, driving a EV will cost you Rs 1.2/km in India.
Maximum subsidy on electric car in India is between Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per kWh of battery capacity upto Rs 2.5 lakh.
While electric scooter buyers in India get a subsidy between Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 upto Rs 30,000.
Most Indian states have levied the road tax for electric vehicles, which would ideally be 10% of the vehicle’s cost or Rs 40,000.
EVs have fewer moving parts, so there is less or no yearly maintenance, compared to yearly average maintenance of Rs 7,000 - Rs 10,000 for ICE vehicles.
In urban areas, average yearly public parking fees sums up to more than Rs.10,000. You can save those extra thousands by owning EVs.
