700km Mileage: Batteries used in Electric Vehicles.

Some EV batteries offer 700km of range these days. Lets understand their types and the range they offer.

All EV conversion projects use  Lead Acid batteries due to their price and efficiency. Earliest EVs had them.

Lead-Acid Battery

Used in early hybrid EVs such as Toyota RAV4 the Nickel-Metal-Hydride EV batteries discharge faster than others.

Currently, most EVs use Li-Ion batteries considering its energy efficiency, thermal cooling, and long discharge times. Teslas come with Li-Ion batteries too.

Lithium-Ion battery

Solid-State battery offers twice more efficiency than Lithium-Ion batteries. Solid-State batteries are seen in some Toyota prototype EVs.

Zinc Gel Ev battery is developed by Offgrid Labs in India, by a team of researchers at IIT Kanpur. It is twice efficient and non-flammable compared to Li-Ion.
