The Kia EV6 is only the kick-start of the company in the EV section, as it plans to bring a brand new six EV models to India by 2024. Kia EV6 GT was recently spied testing for the first time in India.

Kia EV6 GT electric car has been spied testing in the Indian market recently long after its unveiling in March 2021. The first all-electric offering from Kia is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform(EGMP), likely to be launched by early 2024 in India.
We could have a clear look at the exterior of the car, as the EV6 was spotted without any camouflage. The electric crossover has a sporty look with connected taillights at the rear, and triangular LED headlamps to offer a minimalistic look to the car.
EGMP is an electric skateboard platform, which means that the battery pack sits between the four wheels, maximizing the interior space It has a clean and sporty look with a sloping rooftop. Kia EV6 GT comes as a Completely Built Unit(CBU) route, the reason why it is priced slightly on the higher side. According to the sources, the Kia EV6 is likely to be launched by June 2022 in India.
Kia EV6 Features:
Kia EV6 is likely to be offered in two variants GT line and GT and will be offered in AWD and 2WD. With a dual motor setup, the EV6 provides an output power of 576hp power and 740Nm torque. The car sprints from 0 to 100/km per hour in just 3.5 seconds. Along with that, the wheelbase of EV6 is around 2900mm.
Kia EV6 has a two-display setup: one large infotainment touchscreen and a driver’s display, along with a climate control sleek panel. It comes with great features like lane assist, safe exit assist, and smart parking assist.
The all-electric offering, EV6 can be a potential rival to Volvo XC recharge, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Tesla Model Y in India.
Kia EV6 Design:
The new Kia EV6 features a superior aerodynamic design, Tiger Nose front grille, and a new Kia logo, along with that it will also get bigger headlamps. With triangular DRLs and C pillars, the Kia EV6 features a roof spoiler as well. The sloppy roofline and minimalistic exterior give the car a sporty electric crossover look.
On the Inside, Kia EV6 features seats made out of recycled plastics with 3 colors to choose from. Kia EV6 hubs one driver’s display and a big infotainment touchscreen to control major features of the car right from the screen.

Kia EV6 Battery:
The Kia EV6 comes with two battery options of 77.4kWh and 58kWh and also with two drivetrains RWA and AWD. Speaking of 77.4kWh battery, it provides 229 hp power in rear-wheel drive, and combined with AWD it provides 325hp.
Alongside,0 to 100km/hour acceleration is achieved in just 5.2 seconds in the rear-wheel-drive variant which provides a range of 510kms.
Whereas the other battery option 58kWh provides two different variants of 170hp RWD and 235hp AWD, so in just 6.2 seconds it will accelerate up to 0-100km per hour.
Kia EV6 can power other EVs and any external devices up to 3.6kW with the Vehicle to Load(V2L) feature.
Kia EV6 Range:
The Kia EV6 offers a driving range of 510 km on a single charge and a claimed top speed of 260kmph. It gets an 800V charging capacity which allows charging up to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. EV6 can deliver up to 100km range with only 4-5 minutes of charge.
Kia EV6 Price:
The EV6 GT’s price starts at Rs. 60 lakh in India. In 2022, Kia EV6 will be offered in two variants: Kia EV6 and Kia EV6 GT. Coming from a Completly Built Unit (CBU) route, the Kia EV6 is priced slightly at a higher side. But the price is justified if we consider the tons of features it comes with.
